Five Foraged Autumn Home Updates

As the seasons change I love adjusting the decor in my home to suit the time of year, and as well as thicker throws and extra candles, some simply styled foraged pieces can help to create an autumnal look in any room and bring the season indoors. It’s no secret that I love a good bit of foraging and Autumn is quite possibly the best time for it, as it brings with it so many treasures to be found in its gorgeous colour palate. Those oranges, browns and all the shades of burgundy are so warming and far too beautiful to just be left outside, so I’m sharing my ideas of how I take a little piece of nature inside the home for some subtle decoration throughout the season.

Conckers. These little Autumn gems don’t only make a fun game, they are also beautiful simply scattered along a mantlepiece or shelf, just as I’ve done here in my living room. A really subtle yet effective decoration, I think they look great dotted around indoors in their deep wooden colour tone which will compliment most interiors.

Getting twiggy. You don’t have to look very hard to find a bunch of twigs and branches, which can make some absolutely stunning decor. Pop them in a vase or jar with a little bit of foliage for a beautiful centre piece, or stick them in a larger vase with some soft fairy lights to instantly add a little bit of Hygge to any corner!

The beauty of Leaves. There are hundreds scattered on the ground at this time of year in the most beautiful autumnal hues, so pick up your favourites and simply place them in a basket along with some conkers and pinecones for a lovely little piece of seasonal decor which would look great on a coffee or side table.

Look down. I found this dried out branch on my back garden path and thought it was utterly gorgeous! I have no idea which tree it’s from but I popped it in a little vintage bottle on another shelf in the living room and it instantly lifted the whole area. Proof that not everything you forage has to be carefully picked, so look out for things on the ground and around paths as well.

Candle arranging. It’s definitely candle season, so group some together on a vintage plate with some conkers and twigs for a quick yet beautiful seasonal update.

Happy foraging, and faffing!
